Pop It Ups Wednesday With - Spooky Greetings

I have a full tutorial for this card on the Elizabeth Craft Designs' Blog.  Click here to see how I made this very dimensional Halloween card.
My son Jake was crafting with me today and he made this version of my card.  Making cards is not only fun and it's easy enough for kids as well.  Jake added both layers of Midnight for stability, some stamping around the edges and a few stars.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Be Inspired

It's time for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge!  The "Be Inspired" theme was set by Caz Council.  The team is to take inspiration from a fellow team member's card or technique for any theme.
Truth be told, I am inspired by every member on Karen Burniston's Design Team!  Kelly & Summer have amazing coloring skills, Frances has every coordinating pattern paper there is, Fran's cards are impeccably well designed, Caz can transform any character - like a sleepy Honey the Bear, Shelly can go from grungy to chic and make your head spin, Karen A. has amazing handwriting and Sandy uses the accessory and Character dies in ways I wouldn't even think of and leaves me saying "I wish I thought of that!".  The queen of Pop it Ups inspires us with every card, coming up with a new way to use her die!  Kudos to this amazing team that I am a member of!
I made this card for my Aunt's birthday who has two fluffy gay kitties.  I sponged Basic Gray and Black ink onto their faces and used a few markers to add some stripes.  The balloon string is from Rectangle Pull.  I used Copper Foil Sheets to die cut the sentiment and used a marker to trace around the letters.
For the inside, I used Cake Pop up and transformed it into a box that Whiskers can pop out of.  Whiskers fits perfectly in the box once I cut on the score line of the 2nd box.  I adhered that part and the candle area to the backing card as I didn't want them popping up.  I secured Whiskers with a double thick pop dot on the inside of the box.  To make the lid of the box, I used the cake stand die & cut it to the length I needed.  I used Just a Note to stamp my sentiment onto a rectangle from Rectangle Pull.  I kept the paper in the die and traced around the edge with a black marker.
Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - Birthday Card

September is coming to and end soon and that means this is is my last time hosting the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.  The team was challenged to make a birthday card for somebody they love.  I must admit that my motivation for this card is that my son turns 10 today!!!!  Happy birthday Jake!

I found these space themed chipboard in my stash and since Jake likes space.....boom there it is.  I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s Marquee Messages onto a stitched circle from Karen Burniston's Twist Circle Pop Up.  The "10" is die cut from Elizabeth Craft Designs' Numbers & More 1.
Here you can get a sneak peak of how the Twist Circle Pop Up works.  When you open the card, the circle basically twists and pops up just as the name of the die states.  So much fun!
Since I had a "10" on the front, I thought it would be fun to have a countdown on the inside.  The star is chipboard that I covered with the pattern paper and the letters are from Alphabet 1 from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
I hope you have a blast too!
