Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - All I want for Christmas

The theme for the Karen Burniston Designer Challenge is "All I want for Christmas" in the world of Pop it Ups.  So if I didn't already have all of the Pop it Ups dies, what die would I want or what die is my favorite?  Lorna Label is definitely one of my favorite dies as it's so versatile.
I kept the front simple with a stamped greeting and I traced around the die cut with markers.  I used liquid glue under the ribbon and to my surprise it shows the glue marks.......so enter the button and I think I might need to add another little something to cover the other little splotches.😏
Here's one of my favorite characters, Rocky the Crab, sitting on the Adirondack Chair for his Florida Christmas!  Where else can Rocky go on Christmas but the beach?  He's all set with his santa hat, beard and mustache courtesy of Props 5.
From the side you can see how Rocky fits perfectly into the chair; I added a little bit of glue to his top legs only and adhered it to the legs of the chair.
Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - Ocean Scene

The Crazy 4 challenges team is honoring lighthouses this week; however if we don't have a lighthouse, then create an ocean scene.  I chose to create an ocean scene with Rocky the Crab from Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups collection.  Rocky the Crab is one of my favorite Characters.
I kept the front simple with a stamped greeting and Rocky peeking out from the sand.  I used Ocean Edges for the sand and Stitched Rectangles to adhere Rocky & the sentiment to.
The little bump on the Lucy Label was the perfect place to put Rocky the Crab holding a sentiment.  The sentiment is a new Stampin Up! set called Marquee Messages.  I used several different colors of Stampin' Write Markers to color in the letters.
Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - National Kite Day

It's time to celebrate National Kite Flying Day with Crazy 4 Challenges!
National Kite Flying Day is coming up on the 8th.  The challenge today is to use a kite or a kite shape on your card.  I don't have a kite die so I was almost going to change the kite into a balloon when I became "Tangled up" with an idea!

I used Karen Burniston's Beach Edges and a new die called Oval Pull Card (for the sun).  The front is left pretty simple with the dies being the focal point and the fun gingham in the background.
Here's where I got "Tangled up" in my work!!!  I wanted to make Rocky the Crab all caught up in his kite string.  I used the Adirondack die so I could have Rocky the Crab sitting upside down.  To make the kite, I used a square punch & added the handle from the pail die that's included in the Palm Tree & Pail set.  I think by adding the white handles, it really helps make it look more kite-like.  For a bit of texture, I used the Clouds embossing folder.  I found the perfect sentiment in a Stampin' Up! stamp set called Honeycomb Happiness.
Here's a side view to see Rocky is just slid into one of the slots on the Adirondack & held in place by foam tape.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crazy 4 Challenges - Australia Day

It's time for the Crazy 4 Challenges team to go down under!  January 26th was Australia Day so we're celebrating with a Down Under Challenge!  Create a card with something down under, it could be under the sea, under a tree, underground, under an umbrella or even from down under in the world.
I knew I wanted to use Rocky the Crab for this challenge and then I found this sentiment in my stash.....well let's say I got right to it.  I used Karen's new Oval Pull Card for the ovals and the sun is included in that set too!  Props 3 has beach themed props perfect for all the characters or simply to embellish the front of your card like I have.
I used Lots of Pops for the base - leaving the top bump adhered to the card.    Rocky the Crab is adhered to the center bump while the Palm Tree & Pail are adhered to the side bumps.  I found this stamp in my stash & I added "Birthday" from an Elizabeth Craft Designs die.
