Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring Themed Card

It's time for a Spring themed challenge with Crazy 4 Challenges!
I used Karen Burniston's Oval Landscape Accordion as a base for my Lucky the Rabbit Easter card.  I die cut Lucky the Rabbit from Elizabeth Craft Designs Beige and Pink Velvet.  I used a stamp from Lucky Birthday and added some flowers and eggs from Props 7.
I used the Trellis Wavy Frames on the right so some of the yellow base card will show through.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month and that means it's sketch time with Crazy 4 Challenges Design Team!  What a fab sketch!  I found this stamp in my stash so all I needed was a circle to stamp it on.  I kept the die on the card stock and traced around the die to create a Real Red border.  Add a few rhinestones for bling.  The rick-rac was made using Karen Burniston's new scallop die from the Pull Card Edges.

I made this card for a co-worker's birthday who loves red and has 2 Bearded Dragons.  Aren't they adorable?  I used the Pull Card Edges to make the semi-circle polka dot pieces for the inside.  For the base card, I used Happy Birthday Pop Up and glittered it up with True Red and Teal Silk Microfine Glitter.
I stamped the lizards onto 85lb Soft Finish Card stock and colored them using alcohol based markers and fussy cut them out.

Maria, my co-worker, loved her card!

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Swirly Flourish Stencil

I thought I would have a little play with Karen Burnitson's new Stage It Stencils!  I decided to make a faux velvet brocade using the Swirly Flourish Stencil.
I found this metallic textured card stock in my stash and I thought it would look great as a brocade.  I placed the stencil over the card stock and used a little bit of washi tape to hold the stencil in place.  I covered the stencil with the original chalky white embossing paste, scrape off the excess and let it dry.  For the sentiment, I used 2 different sized of Katie Labels and used a gel pen to trace around the die.  The little flower is from a Stampin' Up! stamp set called Birthday Blooms and I added a bit of Gold Wink of Stella to the center of the flower.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crazy 4 Challenges - Monochromatic Pink & Red

It's time for a monochromatic pink & red challenge with Crazy 4 Challenges!  Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow, make a pink and red card.
I recently got this Rose Wonder stamp set with matching Rose Garden Thinlits bundle and I love it!  This card is so simple, let me tell how easy it was.  I stamped the rose using Tuxedo Black  Memento onto Perfectly Artistic DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Place the matching die over the stamped image and emboss NOT die cut.  By using the embossing sandwich in your Big Shot, it will emboss around the image and crack the paper in certain spots giving a shaby chic look.  Then I used Rose Red and Mint Macaroon Classic Ink and an aquapainter to add a bit of color to the petals and the leaves.  For a bit of glimmer, I used the Clear Wink of Stella on the petals - it's a shame it doesn't show in the photo.  That it - so easy!
What about the sentiment you say?  It's included in the same stamp set and the stylish framelit easily cuts it out.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Karen Burniston's February Designer Challenge - Glitter

Karen Burniston's Design Team was challenged to use glitter on our projects this month!  I would say that is an easy challenge, am I right?  I mean who doesn't like glitter?
I chose to use the new Paisley stencil to sponge ink through to get a tie-dye of colors.  I added Clear Double Sided Adhesive (CDSA) to white card stock and then die cut Cocoa the Horse, grass & barb wire.  By adding the CDSA, it will be sticky when I remove the backing and my glitter will adhere to it.  The sentiment is from Cocoa Western Homegrown Greetings clear stamp set and it's stamped onto a word bubble from the Accordion Rectangle.
On the inside, you can see how the Pull Card Edges matches perfectly with the tuck slot.
