Crazy 4 Challenges - Australia Day

It's time for the Crazy 4 Challenges team to go down under!  January 26th was Australia Day so we're celebrating with a Down Under Challenge!  Create a card with something down under, it could be under the sea, under a tree, underground, under an umbrella or even from down under in the world.
I knew I wanted to use Rocky the Crab for this challenge and then I found this sentiment in my stash.....well let's say I got right to it.  I used Karen's new Oval Pull Card for the ovals and the sun is included in that set too!  Props 3 has beach themed props perfect for all the characters or simply to embellish the front of your card like I have.
I used Lots of Pops for the base - leaving the top bump adhered to the card.    Rocky the Crab is adhered to the center bump while the Palm Tree & Pail are adhered to the side bumps.  I found this stamp in my stash & I added "Birthday" from an Elizabeth Craft Designs die.

Happy Stampin',

Explosion Box

I made this explosion box for a co-worker that had a baby boy last month.  There are so many places for her to put photos of her family.
I used some dies from Stampin' Up!, Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups and Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I added some red pearls to the center of the die cut flowers.

My co-worker likes green and a customer of mine gifted me a stack of this pretty patterned paper.  The box itself is 2 pieces of 12 x 12 scored at 4" all around.  The blue layer has 4 squares removed and I added 2 pieces of the pattern paper.  The lid is 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 scored at 1" all around.
Simply take the lid off and the box "Explodes" open!  There's plenty of room to put lots of photos and embellish even more if desired.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crazy 4 Challenges - National Popcorn Day

It's time for the Crazy 4 Challenges National Popcorn Day challenge!
January 19th was National Popcorn Day, so let's add some "POP" to our cards by creating a card that includes a popcorn theme, creating a pop up card, pop up your image or adding a pop of color to a black & white card.
I decided to add a pop of color to my Pop It Ups card by using Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot Card die and Rose die from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I added a strip of glittered card stock to the ends of my card for some extra glitz.  The little "Hello" is from Karen's Accordion Rectangle.  When I was die cutting the Rose, I found the "Hello" in with my card stock and "Pop" in my head came the idea for the sentiment.
Hello I love you!  Perfect for Valentine's Day, anniversary or just to say I love you to that special someone.  To get the two-toned look on the stem & leaves, I left the card stock in the die and sponged Old Olive ink over the open areas.  I like how the edges are left un-inked while the centers get all the color.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Sneak Peak - Baker the Beaver

Here's another sneak peak!
Please meet Baker the Beaver!  Isn't he cute?
I used a die from Pull Card Edges to make the scallops on the front of my card.  The oval is from Oval Landscape Accordion - this die has an embossing scallop feature.  The sentiment is from Just a Note and I colored it in with colored pencils.  See that slice of cake Beaver is holding?  That's in the Props 7 set.

For the base card I used the new Cake Pop Up.  This die has lots of companion dies to decorate the cake, including strawberries!  I combined 2 stamp sets (Just a Note and Coffee & Tea) for the inside sentiment.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Use a new die

Cheepers the Chicken has donned her Super Chick costume again!
It's time for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge!  The team was challenged to use at least one new CHA release item.  The theme is totally open and lots of fun to be had by all!
I've been having fun playing with the new Partly Cloudy Stencil.  I used white embossing paste and while the paste was still wet, I covered it with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.
I used an embossing sandwich to emboss the Chicken Wire die onto the  card stock and used Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz for the die cut.  I used the shadow layer of Whiskers the Cat to make the cape.  The sentiment "Super Chicks" was computer generated to go along with Karen's new stamp set called Cheeky Monkey.

Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch

It's the 3rd Saturday so that means it's time for the Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch challenge!

I followed the Sketch for the front of my card and used the new Cake Pop Up from Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups collection for the inside.  I was so excited that Karen designed a cake pop up for her collection.  The Cake Pop Up die is going to be so fun!!
