Pop It Ups Wednesday With - Disappearing Katie Label Pivot Card

I am blogging on the Elizabeth Craft Designs' blog today with a full tutorial on this card.  What's really amazing is that I've only used one die set to create this card.  Notice on the front of the card you see "It's somebunny's birthday" but you don't see it anymore when you open the card!  Ohhhh magic!
I also have another sample of this style card here.

Happy Stampin',

Swim a lap

The Crazy 4 Challenges team is swimming laps today - yes, it's Swim a Lap day (who knew?).  The team is to add some form of water on our cards and it's up to us what form the water takes.  I am really stretching it on this one.  I added flowers to my card as it's a given that flowers need water.  Cheating you say?  OK, yes I admit it.  In my defense, I wanted to try out more of Karen Burniston's new dies and use this paper I found in my stash.
I used Snowman Twist Circle to make this Spring floral card for a friend.  I also used Word Set 1 - Greetings and Flower Pot Pop Up.
I left the inside with lots of room to write a note.  The card does fold flat so you can write anywhere around the circle.

Cupcake Pop Up

Oh how sweet this new Cupcake Pop Up die is!  I had the cupcake ribbon in my stash and the perfect stamp to match - yay.  The stamp is from Riley and Company.  Add a few sprinkles to the cupcake and viola the front is complete.
Now here's the big cupcake - so fun!  The Cupcake Pop Up die set comes with all the coordinating dies to decorate the cupcake.  I also used another die set called Nature Edges.  What's great about Nature Edges you ask?  Well, you can get both pieces for the top and bottom of your card with one cut!  The stitching is on both sides of the die so you can use both pieces for a positive/negative look.  The "Celebrate" fits perfectly in the bump.
Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch

It's the third Saturday of the month and that means it's time for a sketch challenge with Crazy 4 Challenges.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Everyday Hero sunburst looking stamp to create a background using some of the new In Color colors - Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Powder Pink.  I stamped the little flower from Birthday Blooms with Berry Burst.  I stamped the sentiment onto a Banner Framelit - to make the black layer smaller, I simply hand trimmed it.

Katherine Label Pop Up

Here's another of Karen Burniston's new dies called Katherine Label Pop Up.  I followed the same design as shown on the packaging.  It's simple to follow and has such a fun element of surprise when you open the card.
When you open the card, the "Thanks" pops up and hovers on the right side of the card.  The Katherine Label Die would be great to use just for the decorative labels on flat cards.

Karen Burniston's Paper Pros Challenge - Masculine Birthday

It's time for Karen Burniston's Paper Pros Challenge with a theme of masculine cards for the team.  I found this stamp set in my stash that has "Hey dude" and that's where my card started.  I knew I wanted cake on the card so out came Props 8.  Next, add some pattern paper and the front is done!  I used a black gel pen to color in the "Hey" and outline "Dude".
I used Lucy Label for the pop up and used a Fancy Label to stamp the sentiment.  I was pleased to find out that the Fancy Label fits the shape of the Lucy Label base pretty well.  Since I used a taller label, I adhered the cake to the tallest point of the little bump.  I colored in the sentiment using an Aquapainter and Dapper Denim and Cajun Craze Classic Ink.
