Elizabeth Craft Designs December Designer Challenge - Glitter, Shimmer Sheetz & Transparent Double Sided Tape

It's time for Elizabeth Craft Designs' Design Team monthly challenge - Glitter, Shimmer Sheetz and the new Transparent Double Sided Tape.  I created the lace pattern by using White Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz, Transparent Double Sided Tape (TDST), Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and a piece of lace.

To create  the lace background, remove one release sheet from the TDST and adhere to the Shimmer Sheetz, remove the other release sheet and place lace over the top.  To help stick the lace down, I placed the release sheet back on top and used my brayer over the top then removed the release sheet.  Next cover with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, shake off excess and polish with your finger.  Remove lace and cover with your second color of SMG - I used Antique Silver and polish with your finger.

I used the Rose die to cut the flowers from Real Red cardstock & Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz and Peridot Shimmer Sheetz for the stems & leaves.  To get more dimesion on the leaves, pinch each leaf to create a fold in the center.  The little bow from Balloons die set was cut using Metallic Black Shimmer Sheetz and I added a little Glitter Dot.  For a little something extra, I even decorated the envelope to match.

Thanks for visiting my blog & I hope you visit again soon.

Happy Crafting,
Raquel

Seamless Backing Katie Pivot

I followed Karen Burniston's tutorial on how to create a seamless backing card for her pivot dies.  I chose the full backing, but added a little extra by using Agatha Edges to create a decorative edge on the top & bottom.

Your eyes are not deceiving you, the truck is moving along the Katie Label.  I used a slot die from Tags & More 2 - Deco to create a longer slot so the truck will move side to side.  I used the octagon shape included in the Tags & More set and a pop dot to create the slider mechanism.

Simply use a White Gel pen to add lines for the road.
I stamped the truck from Loads of Love onto Pool Party so I only needed to color the tires & bumpers.  I added black & patterned paper in the center of the card and finished it off with Black/Silver Glitter Borders.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen Burniston's December Designer Challenge - Hoppy's Landscape Oval Accordion

My second card for Karen Burniston's December Designer Challenge is.....you guess it - Easter!  I was inspired yet again by the most awesome Karen herself to try her technique of changing the orientation of the Oval Accordion from portrait to a landscape.  Click here to see Karen demonstrate how to make a landscape Accordion.
I love those Cadbury Easter Egg commercials where the animal has on bunny ears, so I decided Hoppy could be the Easter bunny!  I stamped the ears onto Whisper White, colored them, fussy cut them then attached them behind Hoppy.  No Easter Bunny would be complete without eggs right? I used Small Eggs Peel-Off Stickers  covered with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter then colored with alcohol based markers.  I also used Elizabeth Craft Designs' new 3mm Transparent Double Sided Tape around the middle panel, then covered it with Spring Peridot Silk Microfine Glitter.  For the first & last panel, I used Oval Flourish Frame Edges.

Now if Hoppy's cottontail doesn't make you laugh......I don't know what would.  Isn't he funny?  He's hoppin' off to deliver all those sparkly Easter eggs.  To make Hoppy's ears appear to be from the back, I stamped the ears, fussy cut them & then colored onto the reverse side.  I stamped a sentiment from Delightful Dozen onto a scalloped oval (included in the Oval Accordion).

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen Burniston's December Designer Challenge - Honey's Double Heart Pivot

It's time again for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge.  Each member of the team chose 1 or 2 holidays so the entire year will be represented with awesome cards - so much inspiration!
I chose Valentine's Day.  My card was inspired by Karen's recent Pivot Doubling Technique.  Click this link to see Karen in action demonstrating this technique.
I've used the Heart Pivot die for my base.  I cut my patterened paper at 5.5 x 7.5 scored at .5" from each end and then in the middle at 3.25.  The 2 Chocolate Chip panels were cut at 5 x 5.
I also used the new Ring Frame Edges around the pivoting heart on the front.

Inspired by Karen again, I used the shadow layer of Honey the Bear and some of the pieces from the detail layer to make Honey look very different.  I die cut another shadow layer for Honey's head, added eyes, nose & ears to the head then cut just the head portion off & used pop dots to make it more dimensional.  All Chocolate Chip pieces of Honey were sponged with Whisper White Craft Ink.
I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen onto a heart that is also included in the die set.  The key (also included in the Heart Pivot) was cut from Pink Shimmer Sheetz.  To make the heart frames (all 4 of them), I simply nested 2 different sized hearts and die cut at the same time.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Rudolph Spiral Circle Pull Card

Here's a quick Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Spiral Circle Pull Card.  I used Creamy Caramel for the base & cut using Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card die.
To create Rudolph I used All Seasons Tree (antlers), Chilly the Penguin (eyes & scarf) and a red pom pom.  I stamped the sentiment onto a Katie Label.  I added Elizabeth Craft Designs' Holly Border die down the right side.

I added red/gold Glitter Dots to the tuck slots & one on the Katie Label so you can still see it when the card is closed.
And here's a close up of Rudolph.  I added another scarf & antlers on the inside of the card too.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel
