Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Characters in costumes

This month Karen Burniston's Design Team was challenged to create a project that includeed Characters in costumes!  Show off your costuming skills to transform a character.  I figured with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I'd do a Fall themed card/Character.

Characters & Props!!!!

Sale starts today and ends on Friday October 16th.

The front of my card is very understated - we all know the fun is on the inside!  The sentiment was stamped onto a Lucy Label with a stamp from my stash.  I decided to decorate the envelope with a little pumpkin stamp I had in my stash & colored it with Watercolor Pencils blended with an Aquapainter.
I transformed Dutch the Fox into a turkey.  To make his tail, I used the smallest label from Lucy Label and for the wattle is Poppy's foot.  I used the Lucy Label for the base pop up.  I used Not Quite Navy (retired), Old Olive, Whisper White & Comfort CafĂ© DSP (retired).

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crushed Curry Ribbon & Watercolor Pencils (retired) - Stampin' Up!

Karen Burniston January Designer Challenge -3 or more.....Calling Dr. Love

It's time for Karen Burniston's January Designer Challenge!  The Design Team was challenged to use 3 or more categories of dies and one of those dies were to be a new release.  Let me let you in on a secret - it's not hard at all to use 3 or more dies on one card - the hard part is choosing some as they are ALL SO MUCH FUN!!

I chose the new Tag Pivot Card to create my Calling Dr. Love card.  Dutch the Fox is texting her love sweet love notes - so sweet.

I doubled the Tag Pivot Card by keeping my card base folded in half and only putting the largest tag on the folded card while die cutting.
To create the clip on the clip board, I used a new die from Elizabeth Craft Designs called Tags & More 7- Vine with Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.  I love the little paper clip that's included in the Tag Pivot Card die set.
Stop back tomorrow to see my second card for the challenge.

Happy Crafting,
Raquel

Elizabeth Craft Designs' October Designer Challenge - Tags & More die sets

The Elizabeth Craft Designs' Design Team was challenged to use the new dies Tags & More die sets for this month's challenge.  Challenge accepted!
The idea of making Honey into Honey Claus just came to me and I admit it was very easy when you have such fabulous dies to work with.

For Honey's hat I used the party hat from Props 2 & I hand cut the fuzz on the top of the hat.  For Honey's beard I used Dutch's chest accessory piece.  To get the belt & gloves, I hand cut those from the detail layer of Honey.  The present is from Evergreen Pivot Card, each tree was embossed and I used the die as a stencil to color with a gel pen.

Up next is Fox the Red Nose Reindeer

For Dutch's antlers I used the arms from Snowman.  To cut the tag, I die cut both the brown tag & patterned paper at the same time, then trimmed the patterned paper.  In the Tags & More 3 -Leaves die set there are several circle reinforcements to choose from.

Here is what the back of the tags look like.

I hope you have enjoyed my Tags & More die sets creations and if you have any questions please leave a comment.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Dutch & Honey In a Box

The style of this base card is just like the card in a box, except that I didn't cut the flaps to make it look like a box.  I added Honey the Bear and Dutch the Fox to the inside......they are ready to party!  They have their balloon, noise maker & party hat from Props 2.

I used the Oval Accordion Card die to make the glittered oval frames.  The flower & filigree are from Tags & More.  The script "Happy Birthday" is from Karen Burniston's newest dies called Happy Birthday PopUp.  I die cut it from white card stock that had Double Sided Adhesive on it, then covered it with Blue Bell & Yellow Silk Microfine Glitter.

Here's a side view.

The card folds flat for mailing!

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Dutch gets ready for Halloween

Spoiler Alert!!! New Pop It Ups and Elizabeth Craft Designs!
I've used Elizabeth Craft Designs' new Sea Glass embossing folder to create lots of texture on the front of my card.  I swiped Black Tuxedo on the inside of the embossing folder & embossed as usual.  The "Happy" is from Karen Burniston's new Happy Birthday PopUp die.

I created the tombstone using Elizabeth Craft Designs latest Tags & More dies.  That is Dutch the Fox in his bat costume.  To make Dutch into a bat, I cut off his tail & cut one more then attached them behind his back.  Can you see Chilly the Penguin in his ghost costume?  Love the eyes on the All Seasons Tree!  The eyes were cut from the Characters eyes.

I have attached Chilly to the top bump of the Lucy Label.  The All Seasons Tree was cut a little shorter & adhered with Dimensionals to the top of the box shelf.  The tombstone was adhered to the front of the Lucy Label.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Halloween Ring Accordion

I am so excited to show you Karen Burniston's new Characters!
Meet Honey the Bear and Dutch the Fox!
I've put Honey on the front of the Ring Accordion that showcases Karen's new Ring Edges for the Ring Accordion.

Aren't they adorable and spooky at the same time?  You can also see the new Ring Edges - so many fun styles to choose from.  Honey is ready for Trick-or-Treating with his Dutch mask on.  Dutch is ready to cast some spells with a hand cut witch hat.

The sentiments were stamped on the banner from Lots of Pops.  The cauldron in the center panel is a stamp and the drips are cut from a companion die included in Honey the Bear from vellum.  The bubbles above the cauldron were cut with Rainy Day from vellum.

I love how all the accent pieces to Dutch are separate dies to make cutting them in different colors so easy.

I'll be showcasing both Pop It Ups and Elizabeth Craft Designs' latest releases this week, so please visit again soon.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel
