Karen Burniston Challenge

I am joining the gang for Karen Burniston's challenge this month!  We are following a theme of Pi (circles or pie), Saint Patrick's Day and green on our cards.  I chose to use Spiral Circle Pull as my base card and right away I have gotten the circle out of the way.  Seeing that Easter will be here sooner than you know it, I decided to make an Easter themed card by using the sweet lil' bunny from Baby Charms.  I placed the lil' bunny in the basket from Props 7.  I just adore the 2nd lil bunny peaking out from behind the circle.

Open the card and you'll see the lil' bunny on the spiral along with some eggs and flowers.  It's easy to add a little bit of color to the bunny by keeping the card stock in the die and sponging ink over the exposed areas.  I used the Pull Card Edges to decorate the sides with patterned/solid papers.
Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Pop It Ups Double Spiral Circle Pull Card Rubber Ducky

This card is made using Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups Spiral Circle Pull Card (which I have used many times before) but I doubled the circle portion of the die.  I used Elizabeth Craft Designs' Rubber Ducky for the front of my card.  I curved the Congratulations around the circle - so easy to do - just bend the die cut.  I cut the Rubber Ducky from Yellow Velvet and sponged a bit of orange ink around the edges.

So cute!  I used Stocking Solid die to create the little booties.  The little bow is from Ornament Set 3.

I hid a little Rubber Ducky that will be revealed within the spiral when the card is fully opened.  I used a Stampin' Write Marker to trace around the circle and Lorna Label dies - I love that look!

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen's Katie Label

This is a birthday card I made for the one and only most awesome Pop It Ups designer, Karen Burniston herself.  I used Katie Accordion, Butterfly Pivot Card, Butterfly Accessories and Oval Accordion.  The sentiment was computer generated.

I used Elizabeth Craft Designs' Happy Birthday die to make the "Birthday Hi".  The cute little flowers are from Spiral Circle Pull Card and I have added glitter dots to all of them.

I cut the spiral from acetate and attached it to the last two panels.  I glued little butterflies and flowers to the spiral pull so they all move when the card is opened.  I got that idea when Karen did a video on combining a pivot and an accordion -Pivot Accordion Card.  I wanted to combine Katie Accordion with the Butterfly Pivot, the Butterfly Pivot was too large and just didn't look right.  I had this beautiful paper & I wanted butterflies on the card - I was determined to get butterflies on there somewhere so I decided to try to merge Katie Accordion with Spiral Circle Pull Card.

Here you can see the spiral and all those beautiful butterflies fluttering around.

So much fun!  I hope you enjoyed this very special for an extraordinary lady.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Circle Spiral Pull Conversion

I've used one of Karen Burniston's new Pop It Ups called Circle Spiral Pull Card to create this easel card...........yes I said easel.  The die cuts the little tuck slots that I have used just like Elizabeth Craft Designs' Stand Up Helper.  Before I show you that, lets talk a little about what I used on the front. The circle included in the Circle Spiral Pull card was used with the stitch die from Ring Accordion - I love how the dies coordinate but do not overlap in sizes.  The scallop circle is from the Ring Accordion, the beautiful flower resembling a sand dollar is from Flower Set 1 and the beautiful flourish is from Agatha Edges.

Stand up this easel card same as you would with any other easel card by placing the edge of the card into the tuck slots.  The finished size of this card is 5.5 square.  The sentiment was stamped onto companion dies from Lorna Label.  The cute boy was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and I have entered this into their July Summer challenge.  See the pail & spade?  Those die cuts are from Elizabeth Craft Designs' new set called Wheelbarrow.

Circle Spiral Pull with Hoppy the Frog

The potential for the Circle Spiral Pull is limitless!  There are so many fun accessory pieces with this set so you can decorate to your hearts content.
I cut Hoppy from Light Green Velvet, left the die over the top & sponged green ink through the holes to get those spots on Hoppy.  I die cut Thinking of You three times & glued them all together to get a nice thick die cut.
Notice the two slots (where the yellow flowers are) to hold the card closed?  Karen Burniston put such thought into this die.  Those little tuck slots hold your card closed so it won't reveal the inside surprise until the recipient is ready.  So are you ready for the big reveal?

I attached the Spiral portion to the backside of the circle area & glued little flowers, flies & Hoppy to the Spiral.  When you open the card the Spiral will shake and move.  It's your choice if you want to use the Spiral or not.....once again so many choices.

So there you have it, just one way to use the Circle Spiral Pull card.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Double Circle Spiral Pull Card

It's so easy to make a double Circle Spiral Pull Card when you can choose where you want to place the die on your card.....and that's the wonderful design feature that Karen Burniston has added to all of her Pop It Ups dies.  I cut my base 6 x 11 and scored at 3 7/8 from both ends then placed the die on the first score line and cut ( do not cut the tuck slots - so don't put your cut plate on the slots).  Then place the die on the second score line and cut - once again not cutting the tuck slots.

To open, just pull on both sides at the same time to reveal the beauty inside.  The little flowers & leaves are included in the Circle Spiral Pull Card set.  The rolled flowers on the front of the card are the Spiral Pull simply rolled up & kept together with a glue dot.

The sentiment from Perlite Pairs was stamped on scalloped circles from Karen Burniston's new Ring Accordion.
