Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Video Techniques: Seamless Backing

It's that time of the month again!  Time for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge of course.  The team was challenged to use any technique from any of Karen's Pop It Ups videos and use it for a card of any theme.  We are to put a "Spin" on it and make them even better!  I mean how can you make any of Karen's videos better right?  So I decided to double her Seamless Backing technique.
I followed Karen's instructions for the "Outside Border" Seamless Backing and added Glitter Borders around all the edges.  On the tree, I used the embossing paste and the companion dies included in the Evergreen Pivot Card to create depth.  While the embossing paste was still wet I covered it with Solar Gold Silk Microfine Glitter.
For the sentiment, I used a stamp from Karen's Merry & Bright stamped with Versamark and gold embossing powder then die cut with the largest companion die.

For the inside "Outside Border" I followed the same instructions including die cutting another small portion of the pivot portion of the trees.  To adhere the panels I cut the pivoting portion of the trees, apply liquid glue to the pattern paper & slid them into place.  I cut a small piece of Old Olive to adhere the pivot portion back together.

Here's the view from the back so you see the little patch on the pivoting area.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel

Crazy 4 Challenges - Button Day

Did you know that November 16th is Button Day?  I mean who knew right?  Well the Hostess of the Crazy 4 Challenges, Joanne Grzelak knew that's who!
November 16th is Button Day.  Your challenge this week is to make a feminine birthday card with buttons on it.
For my main image I used Flower Vases peel-off sticker from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I first applied Transparent Double Sided Adhesive to Whisper White card stock then placed the peel-off sticker onto the adhesive and covered with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  Yes, playing with glitter is fun.  I used alcohol markers to color in the Flower Vases.  I even decorated the envelope with the negative pieces of the peel-off sticker using a Transfer Sheet.

I used the doubling technique to double the Lorna Label and add a spiral from the Spiral Circle Pull Card.  To double the Lorna, fold you card base, place the die on the folded card keeping the alignment nubs on the fold then die cut.  Unfold the card and place the spiral die on one of the labels then die cut.  I added a few of the smaller flowers from the peel-off to the spiral.  I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s Sprinkles of Life onto a Lorna Label so it will be visible when the card is opened.
Here's a side view of the double Lorna, spiral & the stamped sentiment.

Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - Thanks

It's time to play the Thanksgiving/Fall challenge with Crazy 4 Challenges!  Let's add to our Thanksgiving/Fall card stash by creating cards of thanks using the traditional colors of the season.

I used Karen Burniston's new Gift Card Accordion die for the base of my card.  I like that the rectangle is large enough to fit lots of decorations or even a stamped image.
I also used Flourish Frame, Props 6, Props 7 and All Seasons Tree to decorate the inside of the Accordion.  I was inspired by fellow DT member Sandy Diller to add wheat in the basket and Karen Burniston to use patterned paper with the Flourish Frame.  I used the leaf die from All Seasons Tree to die cut several colors of leaves.  I used the stitched companion die from Gift Card Accordion to stamp a sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s Happy Scenes stamp set.
I had an extra basket & a few leaves so I decided to add them to the back of the Accordion along with a personalized "Handmade By" stamp.
