Crazy 4 Challenges - Sketch

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month and that means it's sketch time with the Crazy 4 Challenges Design Team.  When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought the Oval Pull Card was the perfect die for this card!
I found this fun banner paper in Stampin' Up!'s Cherry on Top stack and thought it would be perfect with the Hot Air Balloon from Karen Burniston.  I used a Journaling Pen to add details to the clouds and the hot air balloon.  What's nice about the Oval Pull Card is the little tuck slot at the top that keeps the card closed....no accidental reveal here.
Once you open the card, the hot air balloon moves towards the left of the card almost as if it's flying through the air!  Using the Pull Card Edges makes it so easy to add pattern paper to the sides of your card.

Hot Air Balloon Pop Up

I loved Summer's Hot Air Balloon shaker tutorial on the Elizabeth Craft Designs' blog so much that I wanted to give it a try.
I swayed from Summer's tutorial just a bit but not cutting out the center portion of the balloon.  I wanted to show the new Through the Lens Metal paper off!  I die cut the TTL paper and foam using the accent die.  I took a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the TTL paper then adhered the foam to that to form my shaker.  Next I filled it up with beads and then placed the larger part of the balloon on top of the stack.
I cut out the license plate from the TTL stack and stamped my sentiment on the balloon.  A very understated but tasteful masculine card.

Sneak Peak Pop It Ups - Hanging Pull Charm

Karen Burniston designed a new style of pop up with her latest collection - Hanging Charm Pull Tab!  The die has all the components to make the pull tab & some decorator dies in the set.
When you pull on the center cloud, the center of the card slides up and the sentiment is revealed along with the Hot Air Balloon is now airborne.  The gray, turquoise and white rectangle were cut using a trimmer.  The red and peach pieces were die cut using the Hanging Charm Pull Tab set.  The turquoise frame was die cut using Trellis Wavy Frames.  To assemble, put adhesive on the outer edges of the red die cut and only on the center portion of the peach "T" section.  Attach the peach "T" piece to the bottom of the red piece and adhere it to another piece of card stock (attached to the white on my card).
The Hot Air Balloon is a great set, I can see this set being used for vintage masculine cards too.
Here's a view from the side.
