Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Characters in costumes

This month Karen Burniston's Design Team was challenged to create a project that includeed Characters in costumes!  Show off your costuming skills to transform a character.  I figured with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I'd do a Fall themed card/Character.

Characters & Props!!!!

Sale starts today and ends on Friday October 16th.

The front of my card is very understated - we all know the fun is on the inside!  The sentiment was stamped onto a Lucy Label with a stamp from my stash.  I decided to decorate the envelope with a little pumpkin stamp I had in my stash & colored it with Watercolor Pencils blended with an Aquapainter.
I transformed Dutch the Fox into a turkey.  To make his tail, I used the smallest label from Lucy Label and for the wattle is Poppy's foot.  I used the Lucy Label for the base pop up.  I used Not Quite Navy (retired), Old Olive, Whisper White & Comfort CafĂ© DSP (retired).

Crazy 4 Challenges - Costume Fun

It's time to break out those Halloween costumes and have a "Spooktacular" time with the Crazy 4 Challenges Costume Fun challenge!  The team was challenged to create a project with a kid in a costume....and I have the perfect stamp for that!
Isn't this little Dracula the cutest?  I stamped him in Black Tuxedo Memento onto Elizabeth Craft Designs' new Soft Finish Cardstock 85lb and colored him using Stampin' Write Markers.
I used Karen Burniston's Fence Pop Stand on the inside of my card to animate the cat & pumpkin that comes in the stamp set also.  I also added the All Seasons Tree complete with spooky eyes & a bat.  I used the bow tie from Props 1 & a 1/8" hole punch to create the wings.
Here's a close up of the "Bootiful" scene!
Happy Stampin',

Crazy 4 Challenges - Halloween Treats

It's time for the Halloween Treats challenge with Crazy 4 Challenges Design Team.  The challenge was to create something that could house a Halloween treat - oh so much fun!
My Mom saw this pouch on the internet somewhere, showed it to me & then I had to make one because they are so easy & cute.  All it takes is 4.5 x 6.25 piece of DSP and score at 1", 1.5", 2", 4", 4.5" & 5" and .5" across the bottom.  To make the fold up the back less bulky, cut some of the excess DSP off.
I used the new stamp set called A Little Something & Square Pillow Box Thinlits for the sentiment.  I used a companion pumpkin die included in the Square Pillow Box Thinlits to cut the pumpkins out.  I covered a piece of Whisper White with Clear Double Sided Adhesive, then covered with  Spring Peridot Silk Microfine Glitter and adhered it inside the pouch.
I had this large spider punch in my stash & he just fit.....with a little snipping of 2 legs.

Happy Stampin',
Raquel
