Elizabeth Craft Designs' July Design Team Challenge - Stand Up Helpers

The Elizabeth Craft Designs' Design Team was challenged to make a card using any of their Stand Up Helpers.  I decided to use the newly released  Stand Up Helpers Set 2 for my card along with Peel-Off stickers for my main image.

Place the Peel-Off sticker on white card stock that has Double Sided Adhesive on it, cover with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter then color with markers.  Coloring on glitter is really fun!  Here's a video from Els showing how to color on Silk Microfine Glitter.  From green card stock, cut 2 Stand Up Helpers and 1 Thinking of You Stand Up Helper and cut them away from excess card stock as shown.

To use the negative image of the Peel-Off Sticker you will need a Transfer Sheet - you can  just barely see it in the photo - burnish the pieces to the Transfer Sheet and then stick the pieces to your project.  I use a bone folder to help stick the pieces to the Transfer Sheet and to stick the pieces down on my project.  Here's a video from Els, showing how to use Transfer Sheets.

Here you can see that I have the whole image on the Transfer Sheet and ready to put on my project.  When transferring, slowly lift up the Transfer Sheet to make sure all the pieces are sticking to your project, if they aren't, then burnish again with a bone folder.

Viola, now I have all the pieces on my project.  Place Gold Border Lines around the edges, use Dimensionals to adhere the leaf.  Cover the Stand Up Helpers on base card with the green Helpers that you had cut.  Finish the card by adhering the rest of the items to your card.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and feel inspired to try the Stand Up Helpers for fun & easy easel cards.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Kind Koala Circle Card

What a cutie the new Kind Koala single stamp is!  The base of this card is made using Stampin' Up!'s Circle Card.  I stamped the koala, colored him with Stampin' Write Markers, cut him out & adhered him to the scallop circle included in the Circle Card die set.  I selectively inked the sentiment using Stampin' Write Markers - the sentiment and image is all on one stamp.

Circle Spiral Pull Conversion

I've used one of Karen Burniston's new Pop It Ups called Circle Spiral Pull Card to create this easel card...........yes I said easel.  The die cuts the little tuck slots that I have used just like Elizabeth Craft Designs' Stand Up Helper.  Before I show you that, lets talk a little about what I used on the front. The circle included in the Circle Spiral Pull card was used with the stitch die from Ring Accordion - I love how the dies coordinate but do not overlap in sizes.  The scallop circle is from the Ring Accordion, the beautiful flower resembling a sand dollar is from Flower Set 1 and the beautiful flourish is from Agatha Edges.

Stand up this easel card same as you would with any other easel card by placing the edge of the card into the tuck slots.  The finished size of this card is 5.5 square.  The sentiment was stamped onto companion dies from Lorna Label.  The cute boy was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and I have entered this into their July Summer challenge.  See the pail & spade?  Those die cuts are from Elizabeth Craft Designs' new set called Wheelbarrow.

Hexagon Hive & Honeycomb Hello

I am loving the new Hexagon Hive die, it's large enough to cover the whole front of a card.  I've stamped some of the hexagons using the coordinating stamp set called Honeycomb Hello.  Such a clean and simple card put together in no time at all!

Lorna Label Cupcake

I used a decorator die included in Lorna Label for the sentiment.  The Cupcake with Candle and Bow die was cut from Basic Black & adhered to Whisper White then colored with Spectrum Noir.

I am taking a coloring class for skin & hair so I practiced on this cute image - matches perfect with the sentiment & cupcake die.  What's nice about Lorna Label is the area is much larger & will fit larger images or sentiments.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen Burniston July Designer Challenge

I've done a second card for Karen Burniston's July Designer Challenge, this time it's a quick holiday card easily reproduced.  I've used Evergreen Pivot card for the base, 2 pieces of card stock adhered under the pivoting pine, glittered green & red card stock cut with some of the accessory dies and the front is done.  I've forgotten a sentiment for the front and the inside - I went too fast and forgotten something oops.

For the inside, a few more die cuts and you can go back to baking cookies or shopping for presents.  Every die I've used on this card is all from the same set!  Wonderful.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen Burniston July Designer Challenge - Christmas in July

For this month's Designer Challenge, the theme is Christmas in July.  I have several cards to share for this challenge, scroll down to see my 2nd card & come back tomorrow to see my quick and simple card.
You can actually see this card in Karen's Sneak Peak 2 video.  The decision of what die to use was a little hard because Karen Burniston just released some awesome new dies to her Pop It Ups collection - I'd love to use them all!
The base is 5 1/2 x 11 scored at 4 1/2 from the top (where I cut Lorna Label) & scored 1 1/4 from the bottom to create the fold in flap.  To get the flap to fold in, I used Dimensionals on the Outdoor Edges so there would be a gap between the card base & the Outdoor Edges that allows the flap to stay tucked in.  I am loving these Outdoor Edges, great not only to make snow hills.....but any hills.

The trees are from Evergreen Pivot Card and I adhered them to the Lorna Label.  The Holiday House is adhered to the bottom bump of the Lorna Label.  The sentiment is stamped on a companion Lorna Label included in the set.

You get lots of decorator pieces in the Holiday House to make your house look festive.  If you're wondering if the Holiday House fits on the House Pivot card, well the answer is yes it does.  I have mailed this card to Karen, so if you attend one of her classes you can see it.

And now, the Ring Accordion with Chilly the Penguin.

I've used Clock & Gears on the front of this Ring Accordion.  The hands of time are holly leaves, in hind sight, I should've put the time to be 12:25 (great idea from Karen herself).  The snowflake is from Circle Spiral Pull Card.

I love it!  Chilly the Penguin is decorating the pine trees from Evergreen Pivot that have been embossed with the embossing feature of the die and just a bit of glitter added.  The lights that Chilly is holding is from Holiday House, I have cut them from Double Sided Adhesive, covered with Cool Silk Microfine Glitter and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

The Red Metalllic Shimmer Sheetz was easily transformed into an ornament with the accessory dies from Ring Accordion.  The pine sprigs are from Elizabeth Craft Designs' Candle die set.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Circle Spiral Pull with Hoppy the Frog

The potential for the Circle Spiral Pull is limitless!  There are so many fun accessory pieces with this set so you can decorate to your hearts content.
I cut Hoppy from Light Green Velvet, left the die over the top & sponged green ink through the holes to get those spots on Hoppy.  I die cut Thinking of You three times & glued them all together to get a nice thick die cut.
Notice the two slots (where the yellow flowers are) to hold the card closed?  Karen Burniston put such thought into this die.  Those little tuck slots hold your card closed so it won't reveal the inside surprise until the recipient is ready.  So are you ready for the big reveal?

I attached the Spiral portion to the backside of the circle area & glued little flowers, flies & Hoppy to the Spiral.  When you open the card the Spiral will shake and move.  It's your choice if you want to use the Spiral or not.....once again so many choices.

So there you have it, just one way to use the Circle Spiral Pull card.

Raquel

Double Circle Spiral Pull Card

It's so easy to make a double Circle Spiral Pull Card when you can choose where you want to place the die on your card.....and that's the wonderful design feature that Karen Burniston has added to all of her Pop It Ups dies.  I cut my base 6 x 11 and scored at 3 7/8 from both ends then placed the die on the first score line and cut ( do not cut the tuck slots - so don't put your cut plate on the slots).  Then place the die on the second score line and cut - once again not cutting the tuck slots.

To open, just pull on both sides at the same time to reveal the beauty inside.  The little flowers & leaves are included in the Circle Spiral Pull Card set.  The rolled flowers on the front of the card are the Spiral Pull simply rolled up & kept together with a glue dot.

The sentiment from Perlite Pairs was stamped on scalloped circles from Karen Burniston's new Ring Accordion.

Ring Accordion with Clock & Gears

The clock hands really move - cool right?  With Karen Burniston's Clock & Gears set, you also get numbers!  Great for birthday cards, New Years or even dating years on scrapbook pages.

I hand cut the witch portion of Poppy's hat but used the bowler hat from Props as the base.  The brad on the end I found in my stash - perfect.

This card was sent to Karen Burniston, so if you attend one of her classes you can see it and make those awsome clock hands move.......oh the hands of time.  What's your witching hour?

Elizabeth Craft Designs Sneak Peak - Stand Up Helper

Wow!  Brand new Stand Up Helpers!  I made an easel card with a rectangle cut out of the center to showcase the beautiful new Ornament Set 3 cut from Gold & Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.  I hung the ornament from the Holly Flourish with a jump ring.

When you stand up the card it allows the ornament to dangle as an ornament would on a real tree.  I've added Red Glitter Dots to the Holly Flourish - I know you're going to want some of these glittery beauties.  The new Season's Greetings Stand Up Helper cuts the words right out of the card but leaves the line underneath not cut to allow your easel to stand up - no pop dots here.  I've also added Holly Leaves & Berries to the bottom right corner of my card.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Pop It Ups double Halloween House Pivot

I love Halloween & I think Poppy is perfect for any ocassion, including Halloween.  I perched Poppy on a sideways All Seasons Tree and used the fence portion from the House Pivot Die.  Can you see those eyeleashes on Poppy?  I copied the idea from Judi Kauffman where she used a black Peel-Off Border on Flower Cuties to accent their eyes.  The sentiment is from Bravo, a new photopolymer set.

I tripled the House Pivot to have the fence on both sides of the house.  The vellum ghost is Chilly .....very spooky.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Sneak Peak - Rubber Ducky

I've used some of Elizabeth Craft Designs' newest products to make this adorable Congratulations card.  I cut the new Rubber Duck from Yellow Velvet.  The umbrella from the Rainy Day set is cut from Yellow Shimmer Sheetz.  I used Lots of Dots Embossing Folder for the background and I inked it with blue ink to make the dots stand out more.  The Congratulations Stand Up Helper is new, I simply snipped it out from black paper, you want to cut along the bottom line to keep all the letters connected.
