Elizabeth Craft Designs June Challenge

The June challenge for Elizabeth Craft Designs' Design Team was to make a reposition able sticker - how fun right?  I chose to make a snowman & tree reposition able sticker on an ornament.  The fun thing about these reposition able stickers are that you can put them most anywhere like even a sliding glass door, windows, vase or a candle holder.
Watch Els demonstrate this technique here.

Let me show you how I made them.

1.  Remove release sheet on Double Sided Adhesive, put desired Peel-Off Sticker onto Double Sided Adhesive.

2.  Cover with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, shake off excess, polish with finger.

3.  Color with alcohol markers.

4.  Remove second release sheet from Double Sided Adhesive and stick to Transfer Sheet.
5.  Cut around image and peel off from Transfer Sheet.
6.  Enjoy your creation!

I hope you've enjoyed this brief  tutorial and try it out yourself.
Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Spectrum Noir Background Challenge

I embossed Vellum with Stampin' Up!'s new Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and black embossing powder and cut out with Chalk Talk Framelits.

This is a fun & easy background technique that allows you to use your embossing folders in a different way.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Pop It Ups Katie Accordion Surfer Anya

I am entering this Pop It Ups Katie Accordion in the Spectrum Noir Backgrounds June Challenge.  The base is made using Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups Katie Accordion and Katie Stars Frame Edges.  The image is from The Greeting Farm called Surfer Anya - a gift from Carol at Stamp Boutique.  Carol gave me this stamp so I could practice my coloring as we are taking a coloring class called Skin & Hair class through Kit & Clowder (Alyce Keegan is amazing - you should check her out).
I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color Anya and used the dotting technique for the background.  The dotting technique is where you make dots all around you image in several colors.

I used a retired Stampin' Up! set called Congratulations for the "Let the relaxation begin!" and the other stamp I found in my stash.  The flowers have double sided adhesive & Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on them and then I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers - lOVE IT!  Who doesn't like sparkly flowers?

And a close up of Anya & those beautiful glittery flowers.  I chose this image not even thinking about curly hair - as I haven't gotten to that part of the Skin & Hair class yet.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Chilly & Ring Accordion

Talk about exciting times, when I first saw Karen Burniston's latest dies I was so thrilled and just couldn't wait to get my hands on them.  I snipped them all apart & got to creating....like right away.  This was the very first card I created using Chilly the Penguin & the Ring Accordion die.

The Ring Accordion die cuts one panel just like Karen's other Accordion dies, I cut three for this card & attached them in the usual manner (tabs are mountain then valley).  The die comes with a scallop decorator piece that you will cut 4 times to go around the edges of the circles, I used Silver Glimmer on this card and it cut through perfectly.

You can get 2 different looking penguins from the same die depending on how you cut the colors.  The girl penguin has the base piece in black with the accessory piece in white.  For the boy penguin, I did the opposite.  I used the Props die to make her bow & his hat.

I made the igloo with the circle die included in the Ring Accordion, cut the bottom off & used the Oval Accordion dies to make the door.  To accent the snow cubes I used Soft Sky Stampin' Write Marker & a ruler.

Hoppy is a poisonous dart frog

I love how versatile Hoppy the Frog can be!  Hoppy is one the new characters from Karen Burniston.  I can see he'll be "hopping" into a lot of my cards.
I cut Hoppy from blue textured card stock & used markers to make spots to resemble a poisonous dart frog.  I cut the dragonfly from Turquoise Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz and Basic Black cardstock.

I used Lots of Pops to animate the flagpoles, "Birthday" and Hoppy.  Did I mention how much I adore Hoppy?  He also comes with those flies and a lily pad - super cute.  The "Birthday" is a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I used a larger stitched Katie Label for the signature area.

If you have any questions, please ask in the comments - I do read them all.

Raquel

Poppy's Halloween

Aren't these new dies by Karen Burniston FUN?  I love Halloween and I just couldn't wait to make Poppy into a Halloween owl complete with witches hat.
I cut 2 layers of Early Espresso Coredinations using the All Seasons Tree for the front, I trimmed it just a bit shorter to fit the branch over the moon.  Those ghost Peel-Offs sure look like they're having fun.  I used a stiteched & sponged Katie Label behind the tree.  The new Oval Clouds Frame Edges make this card really pop.  I used Orange/Silver Glitter lines to hide the seams of the Frame Edges.

Here's some of the pieces I used to make this card.

In the center panel, I used an oval die from the Oval Accordion to cut out the middle so I could put Poppy in the center & be able to spin around.  I die cut 2 of Poppy & sandwiched the fishing line in the middle - you can see it hanging out from the bottom, I forgot to cut the excess off before taking the picture oops.  I love the spider web in the top right corner.

I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen onto an oval & kept the die on top of the paper while tracing around with a Basic Black & Tangerine Tango Stampin' Write Marker.  The purple flourish comes with the Katie Accordion and would also make a great crown for Poppy.

I stuck Double Sided Adhesive to Whisper White then die cut Poppy, removed the release sheet & sprinkled with Saffron Silk Microfine Glitter - he's really sparkly!  I made the witch hat from the Accessories die.  I die cut the hat & just trimmed to top to a triangle shape.

Here's the back of the card.  I used Yello Silk Microfine Glitter on his eyes, beak & feet....ohh I should've glittered his hat too.  Glitter is good!

Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge - Photo Accordion

Here's my second project for Karen Burniston's June Photo Accordion Designer Challenge.  If you know my son Jake, then you'll know he's camera shy.  IF you don't want him in the photo, he's all over it.  IF you want him in the photo.....well you get this sometimes.  These are the perfect photos to showcase Karen's new Props dies......Poppy makes an appearance too.  Love all the new Characters Karen has created!
To create this album, I cut 4 Fancy Accordions attaching each double album as usual, then stacking them on top of each other.  I used mustache washi tape along the seams to create this stacked Fancy Accordion.

I used more washi tape and the new Seasons Fancy Frame Edges (polka dots) to decorate the edges of this Accordion album.  I stamped the sentiment from Smarty Pants onto Whisper White, cut out each word & backed it to Basic Black.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge

Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge for June is photo Accordions, this was certainly challenging for me as my son isn't too keen on having his picture taken.  Lucky for me I caught him on a good day.  You'll want to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday to see all of Karen Burniston's Design Team projects and one by Karen herself.
For the sentiment, I used Accordion Katie Label with the stitching feature.  I used several Stampin' Write Markers to color in the stamp, huffed on it and then stamped on the label.  The sunglasses from Make Note rotary stamp matched perfectly.  I used Puff Paint on the center flower, it really adds nice texture.

I combined the Oval and Katie Accordions to make this beach album.  I copied the idea of making a cover page from Karen Aicken.  I cut an Accordion Katie Label then cut the center out and added the yellow card stock on the front, I used the opening for my photo and just rounded the corners to match the shape.

I used the new Oval Clouds Frame Edges on two panels, on the other two panels I used a white gel pen to trace in the stitching.

I found some coral in my stash so I cut several pieces to fit under the flowers....they reminded me of a starfish.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you've enjoyed my photo Accordion, please come back tomorrow to view my second photo accordion.

Raquel

Hoppy the Frog

I love the little details in Hoppy the Frog!  You can emboss him to get the spots on his legs, nostrils & chin.  When I say that Karen Burniston did an excellent job designing him, well that's an understatement!  There's not a lot of fiddly little parts to glue together on this frog - lovin' that.  In Hoppy the Frog set you get the frog, fly, lily & eyes.....so much fun.

To decorate Hoppy's mouth, I cut the frog again in red so I would have the mouth area to simply glue into the open green mouth area.  While I was doing that I thought it would be fun to give him a curly tongue to catch those flies with.  I covered the flies & the sentiment with Crystal Effects.

To make the sentiment, I used Happy Birthday & Good Luck dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I cut the "A" out of "Happy" & replaced it with the "O" from "Good".  To make the lilly, I cut 3 lilies from green, white & yellow.  Next, I staggered the green & white on top of each other, then I trimmed the yellow lilly to fit on the top.  I cut the dragonfly from black cardstock & Fire Opal Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz.  I made a wobbler by coiling up some thin wire & glued it to the back of the dragonfly so he will move when you touch his body - super fun!

I used the embossing feature in the Accordion Katie Label & kept the die on after embossing & used a Signo White Gel Pen to accentuate the stitching.  The little flourishes in the corners comes with the Accordion Katie Label along with several layering dies for Katie.

Happy Stamping,
Raquel

Spectrum Noir "Background" Challenge

I made this card for the Spectrum Noir "Background" challenge.  To make this card I colored in a striped pattern all over onto Whisper White using the chisel tip of my Spectrum Noir markers.  I used a medicine dropper to drop lots of rubbing alcohol all over.  The alcohol will soak through the back side of the card stock making these pretty color splotches.  After that dried, I stamped Swallowtail with Versamark, covered with black embossing powder then heat set.
What a great, quick background for any large image.

I made another card from my left over May Stamp Camp.....and here it is!  The base is Summer Starfruit stamped using Positively Chevron with Versamark, Vanilla Embossing Powder.  This created such a nice tone on tone look and it smells good too.  I used Bravo & Endless Birthday Wishes for the sentiment and Simply Stars for the accent star.

Lattice Butterflies

Can you see what the butterflies are made from?  I'll give you a hint.....Lattice Bigz cut into 4 parts.  I die cut two Lattice from So Saffron, cut them into quarters and glued one to DSP then cut it out and layered the other butterfly on top.  I sandwiched the wire in between the two pieces.
The sentiment is from Lacey & Lovely that I stamped with Versamark and applied black embossing powder then heat set.  I sponged Pacific Point around the edges & used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to get the perfect piercings around the Window Frame die cut.

If you have any questions, please ask me in the comments.
