For Karen Burnison's Designer Challenge we were to use any pivot die, any theme, any color! That's a lot of choices we all could make and I chose to use Katie Label Pivot and make a open frame in the front of the card so you actually see the back of the card from the front. Please visit this blog on Wednesday to see all the Designer Challenge teams projects & a card and video from Karen Burniston herself!
So let's jump right in to how I made this card.......
I glued my pink DSP to my Lucky Limeaide base, put it on my Magnetic Platform, put the Katie Label die on the fold, only on one side I nested the next size smallest Katie Label (makes the window or frame) & ran it through my Big Shot. I used Agatha Edges to cut that beautiful flourish from Night of Navy. The Happy Birthday die was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper & I added a Silver Glitter Dot for the dot on the "I".
This is a view from the back when the card is open.

This card is fun to look at from all angles, it doesn't have a better profile as they're all fun. So from the back you see the sparkly Happy Birthday & a pink open frame/window.
Here's what you see when you open the card..........
Those fun birds are from Stampin' Up's Pun Fun stamp set & they're colored using colored pencils but their hats are paper pieced using the pink DSP - I just adore these punny images & sentiments. I stamped the sentiment & used the oval included in Katie Label Pivot to die cut the sentiment, then I used a stitched oval from Oval Accordian Card for the Night of Navy oval. To get the Lucky Limeaide piece under the birds feet, I used the Agatha Edge to cut that nice grass/hill shape & the Katie Label to cut the excess off the edges. The balloons are punched from DSP & Silver Glimmer Paper using the Small Oval Punch and then I attatched twine to the back & secured them with Dimensionals.
Here's a close up of the inside .......
I die cut another Katie Label in the multi colored DSP under the birds & just glued it over the Lucky Limeaide pivot portion. You can see these punny birds are tweeting to each other & having a chirping good time.

For this card I used Karen Burniston's Square Ornate Base (Sizzix Pop N Cuts) to cut the polka dot portion - I just love this edge and it comes with a nice flourish on the die that matches (love that). The sentiment is called See Ya Later and you can get it for free during Sale-A-Bration. What's Sale-A-Bration (SAB) you ask? It's Stampin Up's current promotion where you can choose any item for free from the SAB catalog when you purchase $50 from any catalog or even clearance through my online store. Great right? I know I like getting a bonus with purchase.
The inside sentiment is from In My Thoughts (retired) stamp set & is cut with Chalk Talk Framelits. I used Epic Day Washi tape to hide the seams from the polka dot paper & the Sahara Sand base. I colored all those adorable jungle animals with Stampin Write Markers.
And a close up of all the cuteness on the Lots of Pops......
There's plenty of space on the Lots of Pops to hold all the animals - no need to fight for space Lots of Pops has it. The leaf & flower stickers I had in my stash.
And here's a side view so you can see all those tiers and how they are attached.
I will be teaching this card (paper will be similar, not exactly as shown) at Stamp Boutique on Saturday February 22nd at 1:30, so if you're local call the store to sign up for this fun class - you won't want to miss it. I've cut my base card using Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups Accordian Circle die, all the dies I've used on this card IS included in the same set. Let me repeat, all the dies are INCLUDED in the set! Wow awesome right? I'm entering this card in the Riley & Co. challenge #0314. To play along with the sketch challenge, I put washi tape where the stripes are on the sketch and the oval I turned into a circle. The stamp is called Balloon Animal Riley - cute isn't he?

I found some balloon animals stamps in my Mom's stash & borrowed them because it's perfect with this Balloon Animal Riley (the sentiment is from that set). I stamped all of my images, colored them with Spectrum Noir, then fussy cut them. To get the pink doddle around the scalloped circle, I put the die back onto the die cut & traced around the edge with my Spectrum marker. To give the animals a bit of gloss I used Crystal Effects.

On this card I used Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot die for Elizabeth Craft Designs to cut the hearts in the center of my A2 sized card. I glued Yo Yo Yellow & orange stripe DSP to the front of my base card prior to cutting - the die will cut through all layers without any problems & this makes certain that all your hearts will line up perfectly. I also cut another heart pivot portion only out of acetate. I die cut the polka dot DSP frame by using the Heart Pivot die & the next smallest sized heart, nested them together & ran those through my Big Shot in one go. For the yellow heart in the center, I used the embossed portion of a larger heart die & die cut it with a smaller heart (all included in the set). To get the embossing I used my Silicone Texture Mat & Textured Impressions Pad. I used the Katie Label to die cut some labels for my Hello die from Elizabeth Craft, this was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper. To make the shape in the middle I die cut the paper the normal way & then moved the die up a bit & ran it through again to make it a bit smaller than its original size - the yellow & the polka dot DSP Katie Label were cut using the same size die.
Here's a fun view from the back of the card. Look at that fun Rainbow HoneyPop honeycomb paper. When you open the card, the honeycomb paper goes to work and it all folds flat for mailing. This card makes me happy just looking at it, it's so bright & fun. To get the honeycomb heart, I took one of the heart dies in the set & traced it onto the honeycomb paper & then used scissors to cut it out. I used regular tape runner to adhere it to the back of the heart pivot area.
Here's a close up view from the back - fun right?
Here's a front open view of the card. The reason I used acetate on the heart pivot portion is so you could see the honeycomb paper from both sides. I used the yellow hearts to hide where I attached the honeycomb paper. I added 2 orange rhinestones to the centers of the hearts, Silver/Gold Glitter Stickers on the side of the card & just a strip of DSP.
Finally here's a view from the top, look at that rainbow! My son really likes this card...and why? Because it's so fun & colorful he said, he likes to watch the honeycomb paper expand.
